Over the last decade, BudgIT has recorded significant achievements while facilitating improved fiscal transparency and accountability through social advocacy, partnerships, institutional engagement and citizen engagement. We are not just telling our story, we are celebrating a decade of giant strides!
10 years of improving budget access and raising the standards of transparency and accountability in Nigeria, and we can boldly say that more Nigerians are better informed about national and sub-national budgets than they were a decade ago. However, we didn’t stop with Nigeria.
In September 2019, we started operations in Ghana. In September 2020, exactly a year after we established BudgIT Ghana, we started our vision in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
We believe that the budget should transform into tangible structures that improve citizens’ welfare, and this is still our most critical driving principle and expectation for the African continent.
Our 10th anniversary (BudgIT @10) is a milestone, and we hope to tell our story and reel the public in on our achievements in those years, as well as our goals and expectations for the next decade.
